Patient Care Assistant

Scottsdale Eye Surgery Center is seeking a CNA, LNA, MA, or PCT to join our team! This position will be on a Monday/Wednesday/Thursday schedule, for 12-hour shifts each day. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, CNAs are responsible for patient care and safety pre-operatively and post-operatively, as well as turnover of operating rooms in between cases and cleaning/stocking of work areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assembling all necessary equipment and supplies for pre-op and post-op patient care, “turn-over” (cleaning) of the OR between cases, restocking of room supplies, care and processing of reusable surgical supplies, and the cleaning of work areas.
• Assist in obtaining health history information from patients pre-operatively, and/or through follow-up phone calls.
• Assist with the flow of scheduled patients as directed by summoning the next patient on the list from the waiting room, giving instructions about preparing for surgery, applying monitoring equipment, and obtaining vital signs as the need arises.
• Work cooperatively and maintain communication with the operating room team, doctors, nurses, patient representatives, and administrative staff.

Qualifications

• CNA/LNA/MA/PCT license in good standing.
• At least one year medical experience strongly preferred.
• Current BLS or recertification within first month of employment is required.
• Physical requirements - must be able to move throughout the surgical center throughout a twelve-hour working day.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Possesses alertness and adaptability to changing situations.
• Strong problem solving, communication, and critical thinking skills.

• Bilingual in Spanish.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
