Patient Care Coordinator in Eye Care

Do You Light Up a Room?

If your natural instinct is to smile and make people feel welcome the moment they walk through the door — we want to meet you. At Focus Eye Care & Optical Lab, every patient deserves to feel seen, valued, and cared for from the second they arrive. That starts with you.

We’re a locally owned, full-service eye care practice with an in-house optical lab, serving thousands of patients across rural Nevada. Our team is tight-knit, our culture is warm, and our mission is simple: improve lives through exceptional eye care and genuine, personalized service. We’re looking for someone who shares that heart.

Who You Are

People who know you would describe you as:

  • Genuinely warm and outgoing — this is not a behind-the-scenes role
  • Someone who smiles easily and makes others feel at ease
  • A good listener who picks up on what patients need
  • Energetic, reliable, and proud of doing a job well
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment without losing your cool
  • Detail-oriented without losing the human touch

What You’ll Do

  • Be the warm, enthusiastic first impression every patient receives — in person and on the phone
  • Greet and room patients, making them feel comfortable and cared for immediately
  • Assist the doctor during eye exams by preparing patients and equipment
  • Conduct preliminary tests: visual acuity, basic charting, and preliminary eye health screening
  • Educate patients on contact lens care and eyeglass options
  • Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems
  • Process patient payments and assist with front-desk tasks as needed
  • Keep the clinical environment clean, safe, and organized
  • Collaborate with the team to keep patient flow smooth and efficient

Qualifications

Required:

  • A naturally outgoing personality and genuine enjoyment of working with people
  • Excellent verbal communication — warm, clear, and professional
  • Ability to stay organized and attentive in a busy environment
  • Dependable, punctual, and a strong team player

Preferred (we’ll train the right person):

  • Experience in a clinical, healthcare, or customer-facing retail environment
  • Familiarity with electronic health records
  • Basic knowledge of eye care, anatomy, or medical terminology
  • Experience with medical coding or insurance

Benefits

  • Paid time off
  • Employee discount on eyewear
  • On-the-job training and professional development
  • A supportive, close-knit team that genuinely cares about each other

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
