Patient Care Techs (PCTs) provide personal care; health-related services; and assist with activities of daily living. CNAs function under the direction; instruction; and supervision of nursing staff. PCTs have a professional obligation to participate in committee activities; surveys; improvement initiatives; and continuing education. Telemetry PCTs provide care for primarily adult patients who require cardiac monitoring. They attend to those who are being treated to manage illness and/or recovering from a procedure of surgical intervention.
