Hours of Job
- Part-Time - 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
- 36 hours per pay period
- Every third weekend and every third holiday
Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Works under the supervision of the Emergency Services Manager and other Registered Nursing Staff.
- Is responsible for assisting in the performance of delegated patient care activities, including activities of daily living and basic procedures, as well as identified competencies required in Emergency Services.
- Is responsible for performing the clerical and receptionist functions of the work area and other related technical and clinical support activities as directed by the RN.
- Monitors and records cardiac rhythms observed on cardiorespiratory monitoring equipment and reports abnormal findings to RN staff.
- Collaborates and interacts positively with the interdisciplinary team to provide quality care and achieve desired outcomes.
- May be required to work other shifts/units as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting with patient care.
Requirements
- Basic clinical skills and clerical skills.
- Must successfully complete a course in basic ECG rhythm and recognition within 6 months of hire.
Education/Certifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Advanced degree in Medical Assistant Program or successful completion of at least one quarter or semester of clinical work in a health-related program with a grade of C or higher.
- Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA, EMT-B, or STNA preferred, not required.
Experience
- Required: A minimum of one year’s experience in an appropriate health care setting such as physician office, hospital, or clinic.
- Preferred: Two or more years’ experience in an appropriate health care setting such as physician office, hospital, or clinic.
