Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, medical procedures, and clinical support, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced hospital environment. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals by providing direct patient assistance, performing clinical tasks, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Duties
- Basic computer skills with minimum 45 wpm typing proficiency and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook required; functional proficiency in all computer systems of AMA Medical Group within 90 days of hire, required
- Ability to multitask in a high paced environment with good organizational skills and attention to detail while maintaining the ability to prioritize.
- Possess a current CPR certificate or ability to obtain within 90 (ninety) days of employment.
- Must have consistent, punctual and reliable attendance.
- Display professional attributes through appearance and interactions with staff and customers.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and all levels of personnel in a professional, courteous and effective manner with proficient customer service skills.
- Must be able to display proficient telephone etiquette.
- Must be able to display accountability and dependability when carrying out assigned duties on a daily basis.
- Ability to accurately document and report findings and observations.
- Clinical knowledge and skills as determined by MA scope of practice.
- Strong phlebotomy skills.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and maintenance.
- Ability to provide on-site emergency treatment within scope of practice.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- High school graduate, GED or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Proficiency wih EclinicalWorks EMR or similar.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a hospital or acute care setting is highly preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required.
- Ability to accurately monitor vital signs and recognize signs of patient distress or deterioration.
- EKG
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, infection control practices, and hospital safety protocols.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
