The Physical Therapy Aide at AIR Physical therapy will be part of a team. As such he or she will report to the Physical Therapist. He or she may also be directed by the Physical Therapy Assistant.
The PT Aide will be required to meet and greet the patients as they enter the room. They will take directions from the Therapist in charge of the patient's treatment. They will also be required to get any supplies such as electrodes as well as clean and organizing the treatment tables and exercise equipment. They will observe patients during treatment to report to the therapist any responses by the patient. they will instruct, motivate, and safeguard the patients as they do exercises or functional activities under direction of the therapist. They will assist patients in transport to and from treatment areas as needed. PT Aides will confer with the physical therapist to help the therapist evaluate and plan treatment. they will record exercises and treatments on the exercise cards. They may be asked to perform clerical duties such as taking inventory, answering phones or filling out forms. They will be responsible for maintaining exercise equipment, and treatment tables as well as laundry. They may be asked to administer active and passive manual therapeutic exercise or massage but only directed by the treating therapist.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Greet the patients and get the exercise card from them.
Prepare any equipment the therapist may need while treating the patient. Examples would be exercise bands, electrodes for e stim, weights, hot or cold packs.
Complete flowsheets online that document the exercises as directed by the therapist.
Observe and correct patient's exercise routines reporting any difficulties to the therapist.
Clean the treatment tables and equipment.
Fold towels and pillowcases, restocking the needed supplies.
Qualifications:
PT aides must have a high school diploma. It is preferred that they have college courses in anatomy and exercise physiology.
PT aides will possess effective communication skills and an aptitude for interpersonal relationships.
PT Aides should have experience and understanding of exercise and its effects.
PT aides must be amendable to the situation, they must be ready to help whenever needed. Other duties will be assigned.
Bilingual is preferred.
Must understand HIPAA and its effect on our business.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
