Position Title: OPD Coordinator (Female)
Department: Outpatient Department (OPD)
Reports To: OPD In-Charge / Hospital Administration
Primary Objective
Ensure smooth, efficient, and patient-centric operations of the Outpatient Department with professionalism, accuracy, and warmth.
Key Responsibilities1. Front Desk & Patient Management
- Welcome patients with cordiality and professional demeanor.
- Register new patients accurately and update existing patient details.
- Assist patients with appointment scheduling and follow-ups.
- Handle patient inquiries on phone calls, WhatsApp, and in person.
2. Appointment Coordination
- Manage daily appointment roster for doctors.
- Confirm appointments with patients to reduce no-shows.
- Coordinate rescheduling and cancellations with empathy and clarity.
3. Records & Documentation
- Maintain accurate OPD registers and digital records.
- Ensure filing and upkeep of patient files and consent forms.
- Verify patient details and doctor specifics before consultations.
4. Billing & Payments Assistance
- Provide guidance on billing procedures when needed.
- Collaborate with billing team to ensure smooth payment processes.
- Assist patients in understanding estimates and service charges (if required).
5. Communication & Coordination
- Act as liaison between doctors, nursing staff, and patients.
- Communicate delays, changes, or important instructions clearly.
- Coordinate with referral departments (lab, pharmacy, radiology).
6. Customer Service & Patient Care
- Offer high levels of empathy, patience, and confidentiality.
- Resolve patient concerns quickly; escalate serious issues to supervisors.
- Ensure cleanliness and comfort in waiting areas.
7. Compliance & Safety
- Follow hospital policies for data privacy, safety, and hygiene.
- Ensure adherence to procedures for sensitive patient information.
- Report any discrepancies or operational concerns promptly.
Skills & Attributes
✔ Strong communication (English & Kannada preferred)
✔ Polite, empathetic, and patient-focused attitude
✔ Good coordination and multitasking abilities
✔ Basic computer proficiency (MS Office / Hospital software)
✔ Calm under pressure with problem-solving mindset
Work Schedule
- Rotation across shifts as required.
- Available for peak hours support and weekend duties if scheduled.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹17,500.00 - ₹29,000.00 per month
