About the Practice

We are a busy, modern oral and maxillofacial surgery practice with locations in Wayne and South Orange, NJ, dedicated to providing high-quality surgical care and an exceptional patient experience. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical Assistant to join our clinical team.

Position Summary

The Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical Assistant will work closely with the surgeon to support clinical, surgical, and administrative workflows across both office locations. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent documentation ability, and comfort with advanced imaging and digital dentistry tools.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the doctor during patient consultations and surgical procedures

Draft and maintain accurate consultation and surgical notes

Perform intra-oral scans and take traditional dental impressions

Acquire and manage CT scans and panoramic (pano) imaging

Assist with guided case reviews and treatment planning with the doctor

Prepare and organize all pre-operative and post-operative surgical paperwork

Maintain and manage surgical and clinical inventory

Provide patient education before and after surgical procedures

Qualifications & Requirements

Certified or experienced Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical Assistant preferred

Experience with intra-oral scanners and traditional impressions

Familiarity with CBCT/CT and panoramic imaging

Strong documentation and charting skills

Ability to manage inventory and maintain organized clinical systems

Excellent communication and patient interaction skills

Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities

Reliable transportation and ability to commute regularly between Wayne and South Orange, NJ

Preferred Skills

Experience with guided surgery workflows

Comfort working in a fast-paced surgical environment

Knowledge of dental software and digital records systems

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
