Patient Financial Services Representative/Counselor

Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Patient Financial Services Representative/Counselor to join our team on a Full-Time basis.
The Patient Financial Services Representative/Counselor is responsible for the coordination of accounts requiring payment arrangements, Community care coordination, and collection referral to appropriate agencies. Additionally, files liens, probate claims, and bankruptcy claims when appropriate.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinate payment plans with patients
• File claims in a timely manner
• Responds to all inquiries promptly
• Provides accurate and friendly assistance to patients or family members with billing and insurance questions
• Good telephone/communication skills
• Good time management skills

Position Requirements:

• Required: High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Preferred: Associate’s Degree
• Special Requirements: Experience in Patient Accounts in a hospital or clinic setting is required. One year experience in hospital or clinic billing/collections is preferred.
• Computer Competency: Basic Computer Skills are expected for this position
• Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Intermediate Skills- Able to perform fairly detailed formatting, create Word and Excel files, write formulas, and prepare applicable charts for reports

Work Shift:

• Full-Time, 1.0 FTE
• 40 hours per week
• Scheduled Days: Monday - Friday
• Scheduled Shift: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
• No Weekends
• No Holidays

Work Environment:
This position is a hybrid role that can be in-person at the Stoughton Hospital location or remote. The role supports a collaborative and supportive work culture while providing exceptional, personalized service.
