Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Patient Services Coordinator to join our healthcare team. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and is essential in creating a welcoming, efficient, and supportive experience across phone, in-person, and administrative interactions.
The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and comfort working with electronic health records (EHR/EMR). Spanish proficiency is preferred but not required.
Duties
- Greet and assist patients in a professional and welcoming manner (in person and by phone)
- Answer and route multi-line phone calls with excellent phone etiquette
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments and provider calendars
- Maintain an organized front desk and support daily office flow
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate electronic and physical records
- Assist with patient intake, including forms, demographic updates, and health history collection
- Verify insurance benefits and assist with copay, deductible, and coinsurance information
- Support general billing-related administrative tasks (no coding required)
- Manage incoming/outgoing communications including emails, faxes, and mail
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict confidentiality at all times
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to support smooth patient care operations
Skills
- Prior experience in a medical office, behavioral health office, or customer service role preferred
- Experience with insurance verification strongly preferred
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems preferred (training available if needed)
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Professional, calm, and dependable demeanor
- Basic computer proficiency (email, scheduling systems, data entry)
- Spanish language skills are a plus
