Patient Services Coordinator with Clinical Cross-Training Opportunities

Patient Services Coordinator with Clinical Cross-Training Opportunities

Vallee Health Repair is looking for a dependable, professional, and patient-focused team member to join our growing clinic.

This is primarily a front desk and patient services position. The person in this role will be one of the first points of contact for our patients and will play a major role in creating a positive, organized, and welcoming experience from the moment a patient calls, texts, walks in, checks out, or schedules care.

Clinical cross-training may be offered after the successful candidate has learned and demonstrated proficiency in front desk responsibilities. Clinical duties are secondary and are intended to help support the clinic during busy office days, staff absences, and vacation coverage.

This is not a primarily clinical position. Applicants should be excited about front desk operations, patient communication, scheduling, customer service, and helping the clinic run smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out
  • Answer phones, return messages/texts, and route questions appropriately
  • Schedule appointments, manage waitlists, and confirm upcoming visits
  • Collect payments, provide receipts, and assist with daily payment reconciliation
  • Obtain patient paperwork, consents, and intake information
  • Maintain accurate patient information in the EHR system
  • Educate patients on clinic policies, appointment expectations, and basic service information
  • Promote services, memberships, and products in line with clinic standards
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office
  • Assist with administrative tasks and daily clinic operations as assigned

Future Clinical Cross-Training Opportunities

After front desk responsibilities are mastered, the employee may be trained to assist with clinical support duties, which may include:

  • Rooming patients
  • Obtaining vitals, history, and intake information
  • Assisting with labs, specimen processing, and lab send-outs
  • Assisting with IV therapy setup, monitoring, and tear-down
  • Preparing/administering injections under provider direction, if appropriately trained
  • Supporting infection control, sterile procedures, and clinical room turnover
  • Helping provide coverage during busy clinic days or when other team members are out

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is:

  • Friendly, dependable, and professional
  • Comfortable being the first point of contact for patients
  • Strong in customer service and communication
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Able to multitask in a busy healthcare setting
  • Comfortable with phones, scheduling, payments, and computer systems
  • Willing to learn clinical skills as a secondary part of the role
  • A team player who understands that front desk responsibilities are the priority

This Position May Be a Good Fit If You:

  • Enjoy helping people feel welcomed and cared for
  • Like organization, scheduling, communication, and problem-solving
  • Want to be part of a small, fast-paced medical office
  • Are interested in learning clinical skills over time
  • Understand that excellent patient care begins at the front desk

This Position May Not Be the Right Fit If You:

  • Are looking for a primarily clinical or hands-on patient care role
  • Prefer back-office clinical work over front desk responsibilities
  • Do not enjoy phones, scheduling, payments, or patient service
  • Are only interested in injections, IVs, labs, or clinical tasks

Requirements

  • Previous front desk, customer service, healthcare, or medical office experience preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required
  • Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality required
  • Willingness to learn clinic systems, policies, and procedures required
  • Clinical experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate
