Patient Services Representative

Position Description:

The primary responsibilities of the Patient Services Representative is to provide excellence in customer service by managing administrative tasks and ensuring efficient patient flow. This position will work to assist our patients upon arrival and departure of their appointments, perform data entry, and schedule patient appointments.

Key Responsibilities:

· Welcomes and greets patients in a timely manner, providing excellent customer care

· Accurately enters and updates patient demographic info and insurance information into electronic medical record system

· Assists and educates patients with filling in required medical forms

· Collects and posts patient payments and co-pays

· Performs varied administrative duties such as scanning, faxing, filing, etc.

· Processes incoming information for patient records

· Answers and monitors multi-line phone system

· Creates new patient charts in electronic medical record

· Schedules appointments for patients in an efficient manner

Skills, Experience, & Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or equivalent required, some college education preferred

· Proven customer service experience

· Experience in an office, preferably medical office, is strongly preferred

· Computer literacy and aptitude required

Working & Environmental Conditions:

· Primarily in an indoor clinical/office setting with moderate noise levels. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds is required. Schedule flexibility is required for desk coverage. The role may require prolonged periods of sitting and frequent use of computer equipment.
