Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and compassionate Patient Transport Driver to join our team. This vital role is responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and respectful transportation of patients to and from our clinic.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, a commitment to patient care, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals in the mental health community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport patients to and from scheduled appointments
  • Assist patients with boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety at all times
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with patients and clinic staff to coordinate timely pickups and drop-offs
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections (e.g., fuel, tires, fluids, cleanliness) and report any maintenance needs promptly
  • Maintain accurate transportation logs, including mileage, trip details, and vehicle condition reports
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Support patients with mobility challenges, including occasional lifting or assistance with equipment, while adhering to safety protocols
  • Ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company standards
  • Create a positive, supportive experience for every patient interaction

Qualifications & Skills

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Proven experience in patient transport, medical transport, delivery driving, or similar role preferred
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to communicate empathetically
  • Ability to maintain professionalism when working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges
  • Physical ability to assist with moderate lifting and patient support when needed
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle safety and maintenance is a plus

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or social services
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Must be comfortable working with individuals receiving mental health treatment
  • Flexible schedule may be required based on patient needs
  • Position involves driving in various weather conditions
