Patient Transporter

Straight-Line Medical Transport is a growing non-emergency medical transportation company dedicated to serving elderly and physically disabled patients with safe, reliable, and compassionate transport. We partner with nursing facilities, hospitals, and dialysis centers to ensure patients get where they need to go comfortably and on time.

Position Overview:
We are seeking dependable, patient-focused individuals to join our team as Patient Transporters. This role involves safely transporting patients in wheelchair-accessible vans to and from medical appointments, hospital discharges, dialysis treatments, and nursing facilities while providing excellent customer care.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a wheelchair-accessible transport van
• Transport patients to and from:
• Doctor appointments
• Hospital discharges back to nursing facilities
• Dialysis treatments
• Rehabilitation and specialty appointments
• Properly secure wheelchairs and mobility equipment
• Assist patients entering/exiting vehicles safely
• Maintain a professional, compassionate attitude with patients and facility staff
• Communicate clearly with dispatch and healthcare facilities
• Perform vehicle safety checks and keep vehicle clean and ready for service
• Follow all company safety, HIPAA, and patient-care protocols

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Dependable and punctual
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to lift and assist patients safely (wheelchair positioning, light transfers)
• Comfortable working with elderly and disabled populations

Preferred (not required):

• Experience in medical transport, EMS, healthcare, or caregiving
• CPR certification
• Knowledge of local hospitals and nursing facilities

Work Environment:

• Daily interaction with hospitals, nursing homes, and dialysis centers
• Combination of scheduled trips and same-day transport requests
