Job Overview
The Part-Time Mental Health Transportation Driver provides safe, reliable, and timely transportation for individuals receiving mental health, behavioral health, or community-based services. This role supports client access to appointments, programs, and essential resources while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and a trauma-informed approach
Responsibilities
- Transport clients to and from mental health appointments, medical visits, community programs, and agency-approved activities
- Ensure client safety during transport, including proper vehicle entry and exit
- Communicate professionally with clients, families, and staff
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and schedules
- Follow all safety protocols, agency policies, and confidentiality requirements (HIPAA)
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicle
- Respond calmly and appropriately to clients experiencing emotional distress
- Work some Saturday.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation (if using personal vehicle)
- Ability to pass background and motor vehicle record checks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and ability to work with individuals experiencing mental health challenges
Work Environment
- Community-based settings

- Interaction with adults, children, or families receiving mental health services
