Payment System Consultant_PRIME/ONLINE System

Job Description- Payment System Consultant Roel - Credit Card Technical Consultant Job Brief: Understanding of the banking and financial domain is an essential requirement for this role w.r.t payment systems specifically for POS terminals, Acquiring systems, credit card systems and other related systems. The responsibilities including handling projects, CR and support of test system specifically for Credit Card System, POS machine, Payment schemes, and other connected systems running in Bank muscat under Payment system domain. Resource must have working knowledge on TSYS PRIME/ONLINE and Visa/MC simulators but not limited to carry out end-to-end implementation and configuration of payment system application including all the sub modules, Credit card integration with other systems, and other locally deployed modules. Main Role (Overall Accountability) Resource will be responsible for doing basic level changes, implementation of patches/changes and testing for Credit Cards/POS acquiring application and its interfaces with 3rd party system (internal / external). He will also participate in writing test cases and execute same during Agile approach for Payment system applications. Hands-on knowledge on Visa/MasterCard/Amex Simulators is a must.

Handling of Projects, CRs and support production fixes on test system, maintain test system w.r.t payment system compliance changes and etc. for Credit card system.
Technical testing including Regression testing, Implementation Support, technical Certifications with Visa/MasterCard & CBO.

Assist business in completing UAT.

Knowledge on TSYS PRIME/ONLINE System is a must.

Support Performance testing, ISO testing and other internal / external testing.

Participate in business requirements and design phase of Projects and CRs.

Implementation of CRs related to the Payment Systems by doing internal development wherever possible e.g. payment system compliance.

Implement new projects and enhancements related to POS Acquiring & Credit card issuing.

Must have a Complete understanding of Payment Scheme Compliances and respective process with VISA & MasterCard.

Support Performance testing, ISO testing and other internal / external testing for the debit card system including ATM acquiring.

Participate and contribute to the projects, CRs and provide analysis and recommendations for best possible design and implementation approach.

Implementation of Payment system releases changes as part of periodic Compliance changes including system upgrades.

Establish and maintain operational procedures, service level agreements (SLAs), and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Perform certifications with Visa & MasterCard with sound background on Visa/MasterCard simulators.

Responsible for supporting required support for other projects integrated with TSYS PRIME/ONLINE.

Oversee project’s incident management, problem resolution, and change management processes.

Coordinate with various stakeholders including development teams, vendors, and business units for system upgrades and maintenance.

1. Incident and Problem Management:
a. Act as the escalation point for payment system incidents, ensuring root cause analysis and preventive measures are implemented.
b. Develop and maintain root cause analysis to ensure swift resolution and minimal business impact on projects and CRs.
c. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.
d. Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of IT systems, processes, and practices considering international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement. 2. Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
a. Manage relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
b. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, Project managers, IT operations, and business units, to align support activities with organizational goals.
c. Provide regular updates to senior management on system performance, incidents, and improvement initiatives.
3. Audit & Compliance Management
a. Oversee the preparation and execution of internal and external audit processes.
b. Ensure compliance with payment industry standards including PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, and relevant banking regulations.
c. Maintain documentation of all system controls, procedures, and compliance requirements.
d. Coordinate responses to audit findings and implement necessary remediation measures. Qualification -Minimum Bachelor//'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 12+ years of experience in application support, with at least 6 years in a Payment system.
  • Proven experience in managing payment systems (e.g., Visa, MasterCard & Payments Card Systems).
  • The hands-on experience on Postilion Switch is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of payment protocols, APIs, and integration technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of payment regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Soft Skills
  • Deep understanding of payment processing systems and technologies.
  • Proven communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of major payment networks (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
  • Familiarity with banking systems and financial protocols.
  • Understanding of security protocols and risk management frameworks.
