SCOPE:

Our sister company, Office Environments (based in Charlotte, NC) specializes in workplace consultation as well as sales and service for contract furniture. www.office-environments.com

This full-time, in-person position is responsible for maintaining an efficient, effective payroll and benefits unit for both Rose Moving & Storage and Office Environments. This role will require strong communication skills and knowledge of payroll and benefits practices, HR support, and compliance (federal/state/local).

Position is located in Belleville, MI and will work remotely with team in Charlotte, NC.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • HR related platform administration and oversight using Paychex/Flex and ADP Workforce Now
  • Weekly payroll production for a staff of 100-150 employees, and biweekly payroll production for a staff of approximately 125 employees.
  • On-boarding of new hire employees and completion of necessary paperwork to “off-board” terminated employees (final paycheck, COBRA, etc.)
  • Direct go-to person for all payroll matters: i.e.: group benefits, withholdings/deductions/garnishments, direct deposits, FSA/HSA, and more.
  • Confirm labor hours collected with external “Web-Apps” system with job schedules and submit into Paychex/Flex.
  • Assist in training employees with online access to payroll resources (including time-off requests)
  • Maintain employee files (goal is planned integration of paper files to on-line system)
  • Assist in payroll/benefits policy adherence and implementation
  • Assist with claims reporting for workers’ compensation
  • Wage and Hour law compliance recording and reporting
  • UIA, EEOC, OSHA, and other compliance recording and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements (including safety, prevailing wage, and insurance)
  • Manage employee group health enrollment and necessary integration with Flock (Paychex) and ADP Workforce Now
  • Respond to employee questions received via in-person conversations or through inbound calls, emails, or video calls
  • Use job aids, policy manuals, knowledgebase and other reference materials to assist in answering employee/manager inquiries
  • Maintains positive, coordinated, and confidential communications and collaboration

Position Requirements:

Requires high level knowledge of payroll practices and reporting processes, and 3+ years experience.

  • Experience with large payroll processors, preference given to those with experience Paychex Flex and/or ADP Workforce Now.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities with confidentiality and attention to detail/accuracy
  • Knowledge of commercial labor payroll reporting requirements
  • Experienced in data entry processing and integrated software applications
  • Organizational skills
  • Advanced word processing and spreadsheet skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
