Summary
We are seeking a part time Payroll Administrator with HR responsibilities to join our team at Dexter-Russell, Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, while supporting a variety of Human Resources functions. This role ensures compliance with company policies and applicable laws, maintains confidentiality, and provides excellent service to employees regarding payroll and HR-related inquiries. This role works with the accounting staff to ensure financial details are properly recorded and to provide detailed information upon request.
Payroll Responsibilities
- Export time detail from ERP system and import into payroll system
- Process both weekly and semi-monthly employee payrolls accurately and on schedule
- Review timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies
- Record payroll distribution data from payroll processing
- Provide relevant payroll related data analytics to Sr. Management
- Maintain payroll data including new hires, terminations, and pay changes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company payroll regulations
- Respond to employee payroll questions in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including W-2 preparation
- Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
- Provide weekly recap of time and attendance for temporary employees to the agency
- Other duties as assigned
HR Responsibilities
- Assist with onboarding and new hire documentation
- Maintain employee records and update HR systems
- Support benefits administration and employee changes
- Help ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team
Requirements
- 5+ years proven experience in payroll processing preferred
- Strong computer skills such as typing, system and software knowledge
- Knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor a plus)
- Experience supporting HR functions preferred
- Knowledge of wage withholding orders
- Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Being an effective collaborator
- Ability to work independently and multitask in a time-sensitive environment
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Education and Experience
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- CPP certification a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and payroll/HR systems (Paylocity preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
- Must be able to lift fifteen pounds at times.
