Summary

We are seeking a part time Payroll Administrator with HR responsibilities to join our team at Dexter-Russell, Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, while supporting a variety of Human Resources functions. This role ensures compliance with company policies and applicable laws, maintains confidentiality, and provides excellent service to employees regarding payroll and HR-related inquiries. This role works with the accounting staff to ensure financial details are properly recorded and to provide detailed information upon request.

Payroll Responsibilities

  • Export time detail from ERP system and import into payroll system
  • Process both weekly and semi-monthly employee payrolls accurately and on schedule
  • Review timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies
  • Record payroll distribution data from payroll processing
  • Provide relevant payroll related data analytics to Sr. Management
  • Maintain payroll data including new hires, terminations, and pay changes
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company payroll regulations
  • Respond to employee payroll questions in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including W-2 preparation
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Provide weekly recap of time and attendance for temporary employees to the agency
  • Other duties as assigned

HR Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding and new hire documentation
  • Maintain employee records and update HR systems
  • Support benefits administration and employee changes
  • Help ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team

Requirements

  • 5+ years proven experience in payroll processing preferred
  • Strong computer skills such as typing, system and software knowledge
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor a plus)
  • Experience supporting HR functions preferred
  • Knowledge of wage withholding orders
  • Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Being an effective collaborator
  • Ability to work independently and multitask in a time-sensitive environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality

Education and Experience

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • CPP certification a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and payroll/HR systems (Paylocity preferred)

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
  • Must be able to lift fifteen pounds at times.
