Payroll Analyst

This is a Hybrid role (after training is complete) located in downtown Pittsburgh with paid parking/public transportation.

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to join our dynamic payroll team. In this vital role, you will oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for our 13,000+ employees while maintaining compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations. Your expertise in payroll systems, financial software, and accounting principles will drive efficiency and accuracy across our payroll operations. Duties

  • Manage and process weekly and bi-weekly payroll within ADP and Kronos
  • Process payroll in for both U.S. and Canadian employees
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion while ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal policies.
  • Conduct data entry tasks related to payroll transactions, accounts payable/receivable management, and bookkeeping activities using Excel data analysis techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on payroll-related inquiries, providing excellent customer service to internal stakeholders.
  • Use Excel to analyze potential payroll inaccuracies and perform correcting transactions.
  • Assist in month-end closing processes by preparing reports on payroll expenses, account analysis, and audit documentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on payroll management or related functions.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft or equivalent financial systems.
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation and double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Experience with technical accounting standards including SOX compliance and government reporting requirements.
  • Excellent numeracy skills coupled with proficiency in Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high accuracy under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with a customer service-oriented mindset

Pay: $52,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
