Valiant Residential is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Manager to play a critical role in shaping the future of People & Culture at Valiant. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, this role leads the payroll and benefits function end to end, with full ownership of payroll operations, benefits administration, HRIS (Paylocity) optimization, and regulatory compliance across a multi-state, multi-entity organization. As Valiant continues to evolve and modernize its People practices, this position offers a unique opportunity to help build and elevate a Total Rewards foundation that supports growth, engagement, and operational excellence.
The successful candidate is a highly detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in an environment where precision meets progress. They are comfortable operating as the sole owner of payroll and benefits execution while collaborating closely as a core member of the People & Culture team. With advanced proficiency in Excel and data reconciliation, this individual brings exceptional accuracy, sound judgment, and a continuous-improvement mindset to complex, high-volume processes. They balance independence with partnership—working alongside the Director of Human Resources, HR colleagues, Finance, and leaders to strengthen systems, improve reporting, support compliance and audits, and deliver a best-in-class employee experience. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of five years of progressive payroll experience and three years of benefits administration experience supporting multi-site, multi-state operations. Experience in property management, hospitality, or similar operational environments preferred.
