Payroll Assistant Manager

Position Summary

AgData Global, LLC. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant Manager to support the Payroll Manager in overseeing daily payroll operations and supervising payroll staff. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while maintaining strong team performance and operational efficiency.

This is a full-time position. The typical schedule is Monday through Saturday, generally 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Overtime may be required to meet departmental deadlines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership & Supervision

  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train payroll staff.
  • Oversee daily workflow and department operations.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handle employee discipline and termination in accordance with company policy.
  • Develop team strategies to meet departmental goals.
  • Identify training needs and ensure team members are properly trained.
  • Meet weekly with team leads to coordinate work schedules and assignments.
  • Resolve operational conflicts and promote a collaborative work environment.
  • Monitor staff productivity and performance.
  • Identify process improvements and make recommendations to the Payroll Manager.

Payroll Operations

  • Oversee payroll procedures and manage payroll-related inquiries.
  • Process payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and deductions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll updates (new hires, terminations, pay rate changes).
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
  • Facilitate payroll audits by providing records and documentation.
  • Recommend updates to payroll systems, software, and procedures.
  • Generate reports to update leadership on payroll and team performance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required QualificationsEducation & Experience

  • Associate’s Degree in Payroll, Accounting, or related field — or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of payroll processing experience required.
  • 3+ years of payroll leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and wage and hour laws.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with payroll software systems (Famous Software experience preferred).

Additional Requirements

  • Bilingual/Biliterate in English and Spanish required.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be insurable to operate a company vehicle.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work environment will have moderate noise when working in an office environment.

Pay: $1,352.00 - $1,500.00 per week
