Job Overview

BTC Connect is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team. This is a full-time position based in our Chicago, Illinois, United States office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our company's payroll process, ensuring that our employees are paid accurately and on time. We are looking for a professional with a strong understanding of payroll procedures and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. The offered pay for this role is between $16.00 - $28.00 USD per hour, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

* Process payroll for all employees in an accurate and timely manner.
* Calculate wages, bonuses, overtime, and deductions, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
* Verify and manage timesheet data and employee attendance records.
* Update and maintain payroll records by entering changes regarding new hires, terminations, promotions, and pay adjustments.
* Address and resolve employee enquiries related to payroll issues or discrepancies.
* Prepare and submit regular payroll reports for management review.
* Ensure strict compliance with US federal, state, and local payroll and tax legislation.
* Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless operations.

Skills and Qualifications

* Proven experience working as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar capacity.
* A strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and US legislation.
* Exceptional numerical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
* Proficiency in using payroll software and MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
* The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A formal qualification in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
