Duties
- Process payroll using software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Perform data entry for employee hours, benefits, deductions, and tax information with precision
- Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting and account reconciliation procedures
- Manage benefits administration related to payroll, including enrollments and adjustments
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations by preparing and submitting required reports
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions linked to payroll transactions
- Assist with non-profit or governmental accounting tasks as needed, including journal entries and bookkeeping activities
- Collaborate with HRIS systems to update employee records and process changes efficiently
- Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and resolve issues promptly
- Prepare detailed reports on payroll expenses, tax filings, and audit documentation
Skills
- Proficiency with payroll management software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian is essential
- Strong knowledge of accounting software like QuickBooks and other financial tools
- Solid understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation
- Experience with benefits administration and human resources systems (HRIS) is highly desirable
- Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy; familiarity with 10 key typing is preferred
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify discrepancies quickly
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll processing and reporting requirements
- Strong organizational skills combined with attention to detail in bookkeeping tasks
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments within a fast-paced environment
