Job Overview
Northeastern Air Quality is seeking a meticulous and experienced Payroll Clerk to join our dedicated team. This is a Full-Time position located in Alabama or New York, United States. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our company's payroll, ensuring our employees are compensated accurately and on schedule. This vital administrative role supports our mission to provide expert environmental consulting and solutions for healthier air standards.
At Northeastern Air Quality, we provide essential services focused on improving air quality for both residential and commercial clients. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to a company that is making a real difference in community health and environmental standards.
Salary: $50 - $60 USD per hour
Responsibilities
* Process and manage payroll for all employees in a timely and accurate manner.
* Calculate wages, overtime, benefits, tax deductions, and any commissions or bonuses.
* Ensure full compliance with all US federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
* Maintain precise and confidential payroll records and employee data.
* Address and resolve any payroll-related discrepancies or employee queries promptly and professionally.
* Prepare and submit payroll reports for management and accounting purposes.
* Collaborate closely with the Human Resources and Finance departments to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications
* Proven experience working as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar financial administration role.
* A strong understanding of payroll processes, best practices, and US legislation.
* Proficiency in using payroll software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
* Exceptional numerical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* The ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and integrity.
* A qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
