Payroll Coordinator

Developmental Services Center (DSC) provides comprehensive services across the lifespan-from birth through adulthood-including family development, case management, employment, residential, respite, and community day services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Champaign and Ford Counties. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Payroll Coordinator’s primary role is preparing and submitting accurate and timely payroll data to DSC’s payroll provider for two separate bi-weekly payrolls.
  • Communicating payroll reminders, reviewing timecard data, overseeing garnishment paperwork, entering payroll adjustments, and monitoring appropriate pay calculations for all staff.
  • Entering and importing payroll data into the payroll system when necessary.
  • Addressing warnings and notification messages in the payroll system.
  • Responding to all other payroll inquiries via email, over the phone, and in-person.
  • Auditing employee data entered in the payroll system.
  • Responsible for completing post-payroll processes including posting payroll related journal entries and generating various payroll reports.
  • The Payroll Coordinator will have additional Business Office responsibilities assigned by the Accounting Manager and may also be required to serve as back up to other Business Office staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, or other related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and programs.
  • An understanding of accounting and control functions.
  • Above average communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must be flexible with schedule to meet payroll deadlines.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and understand the importance of data security.

HOURS

  • 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday; will consider part-time candidates.
