Payroll Processor - 9 months Leave of Absence Coverage

Payroll Processor (100% Remote)
Pay: $35/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time
Location: Fully remote (must be able to work Pacific Time hours from any U.S. state)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Processor to manage end-to-end payroll operations in a high-volume, multi-company environment. This role is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.

You will be providing Leave of Absence coverage from April - December 2026 with a possibility of a permanent role however this is no guarantee.

This position plays a critical role in supporting payroll for a large workforce and requires strong attention to detail, ownership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process full-cycle, bi-weekly payroll for 1,000+ employees across multiple companies and states
  • Manage payroll for multiple company codes (approximately 9 entities)
  • Review and validate payroll data, including earnings, deductions, and adjustments
  • Audit payroll reports to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies prior to final processing
  • Coordinate payroll funding and ensure timely disbursement of employee wages
  • Handle off-cycle payrolls such as bonuses, corrections, and terminations
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Partner with internal teams (HR, Finance) to ensure seamless payroll operations
  • Generate and analyze payroll reports using Excel
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including tax forms and reconciliations
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company data

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of full-cycle payroll processing experience (not administrative or assistant support)
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • Experience processing payroll for 500+ employees
  • Experience managing multiple company codes/entities
  • Strong Excel skills (reporting, data analysis, auditing)
  • Proven ability to ensure payroll accuracy and meet strict deadlines
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

Nice to Have Qualifications

  • Experience supporting global payroll operations
  • Familiarity with ADP Lyric
  • Background in Human Resources or cross-functional HR support
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred, not required)
