Overview
Accurately process payroll and ensure compliance with local regulations, supporting HR and Finance to deliver timely pay runs and payroll-related services.
Key Responsibilities
- Process monthly payroll for employees: salary calculations, allowances, deductions, overtime, bonuses and commissions.
- Maintain payroll records, perform reconciliations (payroll vs GL), and prepare payroll journals and accruals.
- Administer statutory contributions, tax withholdings, end-of-service calculations and final settlements.
- Configure and maintain payroll system data (employee records, salary changes, benefits, leave, attachments).
- Respond to employee payroll enquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Coordinate with HR on onboarding, terminations, visas, attendance, leaves and salary adjustments affecting payroll.
- Prepare payroll reports and summaries for management, finance and auditors; support month‑end and year‑end processes.
- Liaise with banks for salary transfers and with external payroll providers or auditors as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Qatari labor law and statutory payroll requirements; keep up to date with regulatory changes.
- Identify process improvements and assist with payroll system upgrades and automation projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–4 years payroll experience; GCC/Qatar payroll experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, ADP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality and numerical accuracy.
- Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Payroll certification (CPP, CIPP) or accounting qualification.
- Experience with multi-country payroll, expatriate payroll and end-of-service settlements.
- Familiarity with HRIS integrations and payroll automation.
