Payroll/HR Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll/HR Specialist to join our team! In this vital role, you will manage payroll processing, ensure accurate employee data management, and support human resources functions across the organization. Your expertise will help streamline payroll operations, maintain compliance with relevant regulations, and enhance overall HR efficiency. Duties

  • Process payroll accurately and efficiently using custom in-house software
  • Maintain and update employee records within HRIS platforms, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts through detailed analysis of general ledger entries and financial software.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and compliance documentation.
  • Prepare and review journal entries related to payroll, benefits, and other HR transactions for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes related to payroll expenses and vendor payments.
  • Conduct data entry tasks involving timekeeping records, tax filings, and employee information updates with precision.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on account reconciliation efforts, ensuring consistency between payroll records and financial statements.
  • Maintain knowledge of tax regulations and ensure timely submission of tax documents related to payroll obligations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing payroll for 100 or more employees.
  • Strong understanding of payroll management principles combined with familiarity in accounting software.
  • Solid grasp of accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
  • Ability to perform detailed data entry accurately while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration processes and governmental reporting requirements.
  • Excellent analysis skills for reviewing payroll data, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with tax laws.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in processing complex transactions such as non-profit or governmental accounting procedures.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
