Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support including assistive devices.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document medication administration accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
- Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care strategies to promote safety and comfort
- Operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts and ensure proper safety procedures are followed during transfers
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe environment through light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met
Requirements
- Prior experience in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care settings preferred
- Knowledge of caregiving techniques for individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general
- Certification or training in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation purposes
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and healthcare professionals
- Strong communication skills to interact empathetically with residents and their families
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties if required for home visits or community outings
