PCA Caregiver (Personal Care Attendant)

Duties

  • Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
  • Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
  • Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care strategies, to promote safety and comfort
  • Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary plans and assist with feeding when required
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and adhering to infection control standards
  • Document care activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and communicate effectively with healthcare teams about resident progress or concerns

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in senior care, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of ADLs assistance techniques and familiarity with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and memory care practices
  • Certification or training in First Aid and CPR is advantageous
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is a plus
  • Ability to operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and perform vital sign assessments accurately
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Valid driver’s license for driving responsibilities related to community outings or appointments is desirable
  • Compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to caregiving ensures the best outcomes for those served

Pay: $19.00 per hour
