PCA/Caregiver

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or those residing in group homes and retirement facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to delivering high-quality home care and community support.

Duties

• Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
• Help with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort for clients.
• Monitor and record vital signs as needed, reporting any changes to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider.
• Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and assist with feeding if necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning and organizing living spaces.
• Support clients in managing their medications and appointments as required.
• Foster positive relationships with clients while respecting their privacy and dignity.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in home community care or home care is preferred.
• Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or dementia care experience is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to assist clients with daily living activities while promoting independence.
• Basic knowledge of vital signs monitoring is beneficial.
• Must be patient, empathetic, and possess a genuine desire to help others.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in caregiving or related fields are advantageous.
