Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated PCA/Caregiver/Companion/CNA professionals to provide exceptional patient-centered care across various healthcare settings. This role involves supporting individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, those with developmental disabilities, and patients requiring specialized medical attention. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient care procedures, and demonstrate a commitment to improving quality of life through compassionate service. Experience in emergency, acute, or long-term care environments is highly valued. The position offers an opportunity to work in dynamic healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics, assisted living facilities, and home care environments.
Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rates, and temperature; document findings accurately using EMR/EHR systems
- Administer medications as prescribed following HIPAA guidelines and aseptic techniques
- Support patients with specialized needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's care, memory care, behavioral health management, and hospice services
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance patient well-being
- Assist with medical procedures including catheter care, phlebotomy (if certified), and basic life support during emergencies
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care activities in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient, outpatient, post-acute, or community-based settings to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Adhere to infection control protocols especially when working with infectious disease cases or in Level I Trauma Centers and ICU environments
Experience
- Prior experience in medical-surgical units, ICU, emergency medicine, or trauma centers is preferred
- Experience working with pediatric through geriatric populations across settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health agencies
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks is advantageous
- Familiarity with specialized care areas including behavioral health, geriatrics, palliative/hospice care, and post-acute/sub-acute settings
- Proven ability to perform medical documentation accurately while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations
- Certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are desirable but not mandatory for all roles; relevant training can be provided for qualified candidates
- Strong understanding of physiology and anatomy relevant to patient care across diverse clinical environments
