We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated PCB Repair Electronics Engineer to join our maintenance and service team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) used in high-precision industrial automation equipment. This role is critical in maintaining the operational efficiency and minimizing downtime of our advanced machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis and Fault Tracing:
  • Perform in-depth analysis and fault tracing on malfunctioning PCBs from various industrial systems, including:
  • Robotic Welding Arms (e.g., servo drive boards, controller cards).
  • Laser Cutting Machines (e.g., power supplies, interface boards, motion control cards).
  • CNC/PLC Equipment and other specialized industrial electronics.
  • Utilize schematics, technical documentation, and specialized test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers) to precisely locate component-level failures.
  • Component-Level Repair:
  • Execute precise soldering and desoldering techniques (SMD and through-hole) to replace faulty components, such as ICs, MOSFETs, IGBTs, microprocessors, capacitors, resistors, and passive components.
  • Perform re-balling for BGA components when necessary.
  • Testing and Validation:
  • Develop and implement test procedures/jigs to thoroughly validate the functionality of repaired PCBs under simulated operating conditions.
  • Ensure all repaired boards meet original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications and quality standards before re-deployment.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of repair activities, including fault symptoms, components replaced, repair time, and final test results.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a knowledge base for common failures and repair solutions.
  • Collaboration and Improvement:
  • Liaise with the maintenance and production teams to understand equipment failures and provide technical consultation.
  • Recommend component or design changes to improve board reliability and longevity where feasible.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in component-level PCB repair, specifically with industrial electronics, automation, or power electronics.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in Circuit Analysis: Deep understanding of analog, digital, and power electronics circuitry.
  • Testing Equipment Proficiency: Expert level use of diagnostic and measuring instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, LCR meter, function generator, etc.).
  • Soldering: Excellent fine-pitch soldering and rework skills (SMD, BGA, through-hole).
  • Troubleshooting Methodologies: Proficient in systematic troubleshooting methodologies for complex multilayer PCBs.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and manage repair backlog efficiently.
