Duties
- Develop comprehensive PE curricula that incorporate curriculum development principles, learning technology, and creative writing techniques to create engaging lessons tailored to diverse student needs.
- Lead classroom activities that promote physical fitness, motor skills development, and health education while managing classroom behavior effectively through strong classroom management strategies.
- Plan and execute lesson plans aligned with standards for physical education, literacy education, math integration, and childhood development to ensure holistic student growth.
- Incorporate specialized approaches such as Montessori or special education strategies when working with children with autism or other learning differences.
- Manage classroom dynamics during physical activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Support students’ emotional well-being by providing guidance on behavior management and encouraging positive social interactions during activities.
- Conduct standardized testing when applicable to assess physical literacy levels and tailor instruction accordingly.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to early childhood education, preschool experience, or education administration to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Provide tutoring or one-on-one support for students needing additional assistance in areas like literacy or math as part of a holistic educational approach.
Experience
- Proven classroom experience teaching physical education at elementary school level
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of varying ages, including TK/K settings.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques suitable for young learners and students with special needs such as autism or other developmental challenges.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators effectively.
