Pediatric Dentistry- Registered Dental Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with pediatric dentists to provide exceptional care to our young patients. You will assist in various dental procedures, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for children while adhering to all health and safety regulations. Your expertise in pediatric dentistry and dental assisting will be essential in delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, as well as perform medical imaging when necessary.
  • Manage patient records using EMR systems (Eaglesoft), ensuring accurate medical documentation and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  • Conduct preliminary examinations by gathering medical history from patients.
  • Educate patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling administrative tasks as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is stocked and ready for use.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a pediatric dental clinic or similar setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems, particularly Eaglesoft.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.
  • Experience in taking X-rays and performing chairside assisting duties.
  • Knowledge of prosthodontics, endodontics, general dentistry, and pediatric dentistry principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children and their families to ensure a positive experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining medical records and documentation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
