Pediatric EFDA (Expanded Functions Dental Assistant) – Part-Time

Mighty Bites Pediatric Dentistry is a growing pediatric-only practice in Newtown Square, PA built around making dental visits something kids actually look forward to. We're looking for a credentialed EFDA to join our small team and work directly chair-side with our pediatric dentist.

This is a part-time role with consistent weekly hours and a clearly defined schedule. If you're an experienced EFDA who wants focused clinical work in a fun, well-equipped pediatric environment — without the chaos of a large group practice — this is worth a look.

Schedule:

• Tuesday: 12:00pm – 6:00pm
• Wednesday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
• Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
• Approximately 20 hours/week; start and end times may shift by up to 30 minutes based on schedule

What You'll Do:

• Perform prophylaxis on young pediatric patients
• Perform EFDA-scope procedures including composite placement and sealants under direct supervision
• Take and process digital radiographs
• Prepare and break down operatories between patients
• Assist with patient comfort and behavior guidance for pediatric patients
• Maintain accurate records in Open Dental
• Support infection control and OSHA compliance protocols

Requirements:

• Pennsylvania EFDA certification (required)
• Pennsylvania X-ray certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification (required)
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (required)
• FBI Criminal Background Check (required)
• 2+ years dental assisting experience; pediatric experience strongly preferred

Nice to Have:

• Open Dental familiarity
• Experience with behavior guidance techniques for children

Compensation:

• $26.00 – $32.00/hour based on experience
• Part-time, in-person role
• No benefits package at this time

We're affiliated with St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and donate to the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House Care Mobile for every new patient we see.
