Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our multidisciplinary pediatric care team. The ideal candidate will specialize in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders in children, providing comprehensive care through outpatient and inpatient services. This role involves collaboration with other pediatric subspecialties, participation in clinical research, and utilization of advanced medical technologies to improve patient outcomes. The Pediatric Gastroenterologist will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to the unique needs of pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough clinical evaluations and physical examinations of pediatric patients presenting with gastrointestinal issues.
  • Diagnose and develop treatment plans for conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux, feeding disorders, and congenital anomalies.
  • Perform or oversee diagnostic procedures including endoscopy, colonoscopy, gastric lavage, and other minimally invasive interventions.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Epic and other EHR platforms for accurate documentation and patient management.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nutritionists, radiologists, surgeons, and other pediatric subspecialists to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Manage perioperative care for pediatric patients undergoing gastrointestinal procedures or surgeries.
  • Provide patient education on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and preventive health strategies.
  • Engage in clinical research initiatives to advance pediatric gastroenterology practices and improve patient outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain high standards of infection control and aseptic techniques during procedures.
  • Participate in outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and telehealth services as needed to deliver accessible pediatric care.

Requirements

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution with board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Gastroenterology.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of employment.
  • Extensive experience with diagnostic radiology, medical imaging (including CT), nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology techniques relevant to pediatric gastroenterology.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms; experience with medical coding (CPT/ICD) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology (including psychopharmacology), and medical terminology related to pediatrics.
  • Experience managing complex cases involving critical care (pediatric ICU), neurocritical care, or post-operative care is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with advanced procedures such as catheterization, neuropsychological assessments, ventilator management, and gastrostomy tube placement is desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach toward pediatric patients and their families. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $222,000.00 - $320,000.00 per year
