The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) will provide comprehensive, family-centered care to children from infancy through adolescence in an integrative model. The PNP will assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions while incorporating functional medicine principles, nutrition guidance, and lifestyle interventions. The role includes patient education, care coordination, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to optimize health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and assessments of pediatric patients, including infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating preventive care, acute illness management, and chronic condition support.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists (e.g., gastroenterology, infectious disease), and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) to ensure accurate documentation of medical history, assessments, and treatment outcomes.
- Educate families on health maintenance, disease prevention, medication administration, and developmental milestones; provide health coaching tailored to pediatric needs.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with specialization in pediatrics with pediatric experience.
- Proven experience working with children in diverse settings such as clinics, hospitals (including PICU or neonatal units), or urgent care centers.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards for documentation.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, pharmacology (including psychopharmacology), and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Ability to handle complex cases involving acute pain management, infectious disease care, behavioral health issues, and memory or dementia care when working with children with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Excellent communication skills for triage calls, patient assessment discussions, discharge planning, and family education.
Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
