Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant

Job Description

Provides skilled treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician and directed by a licensed physical therapist. Responsible for following departmental procedures and maintaining professional standards.

Participates in a variety of professional growth activities intended to develop and improve patient care delivery and departmental performance. Responsible for following departmental procedures and maintaining professional standards. The therapist is expected to follow Soaring on Hope’s mission and vision and demonstrate values when administering departmental services and fulfilling patient and family needs.

Job Requirements

· Associate Degree in Physical Therapy

· Valid Oklahoma clinical license

· Knowledge of current best practices that are beneficial for children with therapy needs

· Familiarity with EMR and billing systems for therapy services

· Willingness to attend Soaring on Hope related events and meet with potential referral sources

· Pediatric Experience Preferred

Clinical Responsibilities

· Implement treatment plan as developed by the licensed physical therapist of record.

· Collaborate with the licensed physical therapist on an agreed upon frequency to assess and reassess patient’s plan of care, treatment goals, and interventions.

· Document patient progress in daily notes and progress notes as well as contribute recommendations to patient’s discharge note from physical therapy.

· Attend regular team meetings

· Assists with guidance for clinical fieldwork students under the supervision of the physical therapist

· Reports on interventions and patient progress during assigned meetings and contributes to the screening and evaluation process.

· Complete documentation in accordance with departmental policies, best practices, state and federal rules and guidelines, and applicable standards of care, including working with PT on annual supervision log.

· Perform other administrative tasks assigned to them by the Physical Therapist

Program Responsibilities

· Assist with community presentations and events, as applicable

· When not in active treatment sessions and the therapist has completed all required documentation, spend additional time on improving the department (i.e. organization tasks, developing materials, etc.)

· Become active and involved in professional associations, social media and local organizations

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
