The Pediatric Physician Extender (NP or PA) works closely with supervising pediatricians to expand access, enhance continuity, and support high-quality care for infants, children, and adolescents. This role is designed for an APP who thrives in a collaborative environment, provides independent clinical care within scope, and serves as an extension of the physician team to improve patient flow, same-day access, and overall clinic efficiency.
POSITION DETAILS:

Partner with pediatric physicians to manage daily patient flow, triage needs, and support timely access to care

Conduct well-child exams, acute visits, follow-ups, and chronic disease management under a collaborative practice agreement

Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, point-of-care testing) and communicate results to families

Provide anticipatory guidance, education, and care coordination to support families in managing developmental, behavioral, and preventive health needs

Support physicians with inbox management, medication refills, care coordination tasks, and follow-up communication as appropriate

Document all encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record

Participate in quality initiatives, care-team huddles, and workflow improvements to optimize pediatric access and experience

Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited NP or PA program
-
Current Minnesota state licensure as an APRN or PA-C upon hire
-
Pediatric experience preferred; strong interest in pediatrics and pediatric mental health and sleep required

BLS and PALS required or obtainable

Strong communication skills and comfort working closely with supervising physicians

Ability to balance independent practice with team-based care expectations

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

Base compensation salary is guaranteed starting at $130,000.00/year for the first 2 years of employment, plus the opportunity to earn additional income based on production hours worked (wRVU’s).
