Rooted Connections Counseling is seeking a Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team. If you are passionate about working with children and families who need it the most, Rooted Connections Counseling is an excellent fit for you. Our practice offers an amazing balance of private practice benefits with opportunities to serve under- resourced clients. We specialize in working with child trauma, but treat the whole spectrum of issues that kids and families experience, from school anxiety to high conflict divorce. Our most common referral sources are pediatricians, attorneys, schools, other therapists, and clients.

In addition to the necessary interest and expertise, we are seeking doctoral level candidates or therapists who are:

  • Committed and passionate about helping children and families
  • Looking for a way to work with children and families exposed to trauma without the risk of burnout typical in these settings
  • Eager to learn about best practices for working with child trauma
  • Looking to be part of a collaborative team where you feel valued, respected, and fairly compensated
  • Comfortable communicating your needs, and intentional about self care
  • Creative and comfortable with giving input and feedback to practice leadership
  • Willing to work outside of your comfort zone (with appropriate support), insightful, and open to feedback

Our intention? To help our therapists find the balance of what they love, what they are good at, what the world needs, and what they are paid for (passion, mission, vocation, and profession). In addition to a steady stream of referrals that allow clinicians to balance their caseload with a variety of cases, we provide consultation, ongoing training and professional development funds, and competitive wages and benefits.

Interested applicants should have training, experience and interest in working with children, adolescents, and families, a particular interest in working with children and families exposed to trauma, and a commitment to providing mental health services to under-resourced communities. Past experience working with child trauma is preferred, but applicants should be interested in training in this area, and willing to work with this population.

Our post-docs are hired as full time employees, and therefore all employee benefits and compensation structure applies to this position. The fellowship is at minimum a two-year commitment. RCC has a robust psychology training program, and we are seeking applicants who are interested in being part of a training program in the long term.

Responsibilities/opportunities include:

  • 23 clinical hours per week, consisting of individual therapy, and/or psychological testing
  • Serving as a member of the psychology training team, which includes:
  • Facilitating group supervision for psychology externs
  • Providing secondary clinical supervision for psychology externs
  • Attending training team meetings to assist with development of supervision skills
  • Attending team meetings, consultation, didactics, and case presentations
  • Participating in providing services to community partners

The position requires a Ph.D. in psychology or PsyD (pre or post licensure),

Pay: $80,109.89 - $96,476.42 per year

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
