Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in pediatric patient care, including familiarity with EMR/EHR Axxess and a strong background in various clinical settings. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal health outcomes across inpatient and outpatient environments. Candidates with experience in critical care, emergency medicine, or specialty areas such as cardiology, ophthalmology, or neonatal care are highly valued. The Pediatric RN will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, compassionate care aligned with healthcare standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
  • Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform venipuncture with aseptic technique.
  • Manage airway care, ventilator support, tube feeding, ostomy care, and catheterization procedures.
  • Document patient information accurately using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Provide specialized pediatric nursing interventions including neonatal ventilator management, trauma medicine, and acute pain management.
  • Assist with diagnostic evaluations like laboratory testing, specimen collection/processing, sonography, mammography, and medical imaging procedures.
  • Support discharge planning, patient education on health coaching and disease management including Alzheimer's care and dementia care.
  • Collaborate with physicians during procedures such as suturing or spinal taps in various settings including surgical centers or hospitals.
  • Participate in infection control practices and adhere to CDC guidelines for infectious disease care and sterile processing protocols.
  • Engage in case management activities for complex cases involving post-acute care, hospice & palliative medicine, or family planning.
  • Ensure safe patient transfer using equipment like Hoyer lifts and assist with neonatal neonatal ventilator management when necessary.

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure with active state registration.
  • Proven experience in pediatrics; neonatal ventilator experience or NICU background preferred.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to pediatric health conditions including ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and CPT coding.
  • Experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospitals (Level I/II trauma centers), outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, or home & community care settings.
  • Skills in performing diagnostic evaluations including laboratory work and medical imaging techniques.
  • Ability to perform invasive procedures like IV insertion and catheter care confidently while maintaining aseptic technique.
  • Strong understanding of physiology knowledge related to pediatric patients across different age groups including toddlers and infants.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient assessment and education; experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams ensuring comprehensive patient-centered care. Job Type: Contract

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
