Position Title: Pediatrician, Newborn Nursery

The Neonatology Department at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a full-time physician to provide CNS (Cochran Newborn Service) coverage at BIDMC. The CNS service at BIDMC is our well newborn rounding service, and provides coverage for approximately 85% of the well newborns born at BIDMC annually. We are currently looking for a full-time physician to join our team.
In this role, the physician is expected to round on assigned patients, provide direct clinical care, and communicate with and educate families. During the week, Harvard Medical School students rotate through the service, and the physician will be expected to teach and supervise the students. The CNS is staffed daily with two physicians who round on patients on the Postpartum Neonatal Unit (PPNU).
Job Requirements
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certification in Pediatrics or Medicine-Pediatrics with or without subspecialty Neonatology certification is required
  • A valid MA medical license or the ability to obtain one
  • At least 5 years of newborn medicine experience
  • Excellent teaching, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
