Peer-to-Peer Marketing & Endurance Coordinator

The Sunrise Association is seeking a Peer-to-Peer Marketing & Endurance Coordinator to lead growth across our full portfolio of peer-to-peer fundraising programs: SunriseWALKS, our DIY fundraising program, and Team Sunrise (our endurance program). The ideal candidate has at least three years of relevant experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and loves working with a team.

The mission of the Sunrise Association is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings worldwide through the creation of Day Camps, Year-Round Programs, and In-Hospital Recreational Activities, all offered free of charge.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Peer-to-Peer Marketing & Endurance Coordinator is responsible for generating, planning, executing, and evaluating strategies that recruit new participants and achieve the fundraising goals of Sunrise Association across three core peer-to-peer programs:

  • SunriseWALKS (our flagship walks program)
  • DIY Fundraising (peer-led independent campaigns, ~$120K raised in 2025, projected $180K in 2026)
  • Team Sunrise (our endurance program, $64K raised in 2025, projected $97K in 2026)

The role also provides marketing support for Sunrise Streams, our emerging charity streaming platform.

This position drives acquisition through social media and web-based programs, focusing on improving ROI, increasing revenue, and growing event participation through efficient leads and conversions across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and streaming platforms.

Primary ResponsibilitiesSunriseWALKS

  • Develop and execute comprehensive digital marketing acquisition plans for the WALKS program
  • Update and manage the SunriseWALKS website through DonorDrive CMS
  • Design and create digital-centric recruitment and fundraising communications, including email, social media assets, participant materials, marketing collateral, and website content
  • Collaborate with the WALKS team to solicit, advance, and improve sponsorship opportunities

DIY Fundraising Program (Explicit Growth Ownership)

  • Serve as the marketing lead for DIY fundraising, with explicit responsibility for growing the program from ~$120K (2025) to $180K (2026 forecast) and beyond
  • Collaborate with the Peer-to-Peer team to create, recruit, and steward DIY participants
  • Provide comprehensive marketing support for DIY campaigns, including participant toolkits, social-ready assets, email templates, and coaching resources
  • Identify new audiences, partnerships, and content strategies to expand DIY participation
  • Build scalable systems that allow DIY fundraisers to launch, run, and complete successful campaigns

Team Sunrise / Endurance Program (End-to-End Ownership)

  • Own the Team Sunrise endurance program end to end, including strategy, recruitment, participant experience, and marketing infrastructure
  • Recruit and interview prospective endurance participants
  • Coach participants throughout their training and fundraising journey
  • Expand Sunrise's marathon footprint by securing bibs at additional races and building relationships with race organizers
  • Build and execute the complete marketing infrastructure behind the program, including landing pages, email journeys, social campaigns, and participant communications
  • Drive growth from $64K (2025) to $97K (2026 forecast) and beyond

Sunrise Streams (Marketing Support)

  • Provide marketing support for Sunrise Streams, our emerging charity streaming platform
  • Collaborate with program leads on streamer recruitment campaigns, social content, and platform-specific creative
  • Help establish best practices and creative templates as the program scales

Cross-Program Responsibilities

  • Analyze historical and current data to generate strategies, recommend changes, and track progress against goals across all P2P programs
  • Test and optimize nationwide P2P social media campaigns in real time for ROI, cost per click, cost per lead, and cost per conversion
  • Manage the social media lead generation response plan
  • Develop resources and trainings to support our community with digital marketing strategies and tools
  • Stay current with peer and competitor digital activities and innovations, and share insights with colleagues
  • Apply P2P best practices and emerging trends to maximize recruitment and fundraising results
  • Provide subject matter expertise across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and streaming platforms
  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Uniquely people-oriented with a natural desire to connect, chat, and build relationships, especially with endurance participants and DIY fundraisers who need a coach and partner, not just a marketer
  • Ability to excite anyone about our mission and create a meaningful experience for every supporter
  • Agile, creative connector who can identify or create P2P fundraising opportunities where they may not be immediately apparent, especially in social media and the digital space
  • Experience creating and managing social media fundraising campaigns, particularly across Meta platforms and streaming platforms
  • Comfort with end-to-end program ownership: strategy, recruitment, participant communication, and execution
  • Strong team orientation and work ethic, essential for a demanding environment that continually strives for excellence, efficiency, and innovation
  • Ability to organize complex programs using the project-management tool provided, manage deadlines, and maintain strong communication between internal teams and vendor partners
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and nights as needed for events and races
  • Experience planning, leading, and managing projects, coordinating with peers, and reporting on progress to senior leadership

Minimum Education & Experience

  • At least three years of experience in P2P fundraising, strategy, recruitment, marketing, or participant communication is required
  • A combination of social media experience and peer-to-peer fundraising experience is strongly preferred
  • Track record of participant acquisition in the peer-to-peer fundraising industry or a related field is required
  • Firm grasp of DonorDrive or comparable P2P fundraising software is required; other CMS exposure is a plus
  • Knowledge of email communication systems is required
  • Endurance program experience (marathon, triathlon, cycling, or comparable) is a strong plus
  • Canva experience is a plus
  • Experience with AI tools is a plus
  • Graphic design or other relevant creative experience is a plus
  • Proven success as a personal P2P fundraiser is a strong plus
