PE/Gym Teacher

Open Position:

Quantum STEAM Academy is now accepting applications for a full time PhyEd Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Quantum STEAM Academy serves PreK-8 grades.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Valid MN Teaching License for PhyEd is required or in the process to apply for a license through Tier1 or Tier 2 for PE . We encourage recent graduates to apply.

Position Description:
This position requires teacher to perform all of the essential functions for PhyEd program and instruction including sports programs, participation in leagues, and behavior management of the class during activities.

Teacher duties include but not limited to:

· Develops and teaches Physical Education classes with goals and objectives for physical fitness, coordination, and sports,

· Develops and promotes students’ leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and social skills

· Support students with special needs in coordination with their teachers and case managers

· Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.

· Selects and inspects equipment and field areas used to ensure they are in good and safe working order and maintains inventory records.

· Provides a safe and cooperative learning environment

· Maintains accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance.

· Participate actively in professional development trainings, seminars and meetings

· Assists in coordinating extra-curricular activities, including student performances, assemblies, and athletic events.

· Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.

· Maintains a growth mindset toward student learning, teaching practice, and personal/collective professional development

· Collaborates effectively within the school and external communities to increase student performance and community building mindsets.

· Demonstrates global competence that positively impacts and connects students’ work to their families, local, and global communities

· Performs other duties as assigned by the administration

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
