PEMB PROJECT MANAGER

JB Steel Pre-Engineered Metal Building Estimating & Design PM

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing projects involving Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of both the technical and practical aspects of the construction industry. This role requires exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve design and detailing challenges throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all technical activities related to PEMB design and engineering, including reviewing drafts, computer models, and approving necessary design changes to ensure project accuracy and compliance.

This position demands effective communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, and other stakeholders, as well as a keen attention to detail and a methodical approach to guarantee precision in all tasks. The Project Manager must be flexible, able to shift focus and manage changes in tasks and priorities as project needs evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, coordination, and execution of PEMB projects from inception to completion.
  • Lead and oversee technical activities relating to design & engineering PEMB projects, review drafts and computer models and approve design changes.
  • Manages PEMB project estimating, detailing, and material purchasing.
  • Work closely with clients and stakeholders to define scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Review and interpret design documents, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance and quality standards.
  • Coordinate procurement of materials, verifying delivery schedules and quality.
  • Track project progress, prepare reports, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve project issues and risks proactively, implement effective solutions.
  • Manage project financials including cost tracking, invoicing, and change orders.
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration among project staff, field crews, and partners.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through clear communication and exceptional service.
  • Additional duties as directed by Supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a role working with Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings
  • Demonstratable proficiency with commercial estimation software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret complex project documents and specifications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in estimating and cost analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Thorough knowledge of PEMB systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for working with clients and teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
  • Proficiency with project management software, Microsoft Office, and construction scheduling tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with MBS, CAD and/or BIM platforms (e.g., AutoCAD, SDS/2, Revit).
  • Familiarity with Lean construction principles and modern project management tools.

Working Conditions

  • Position based in Medford, Oregon, with a hybrid or remote work option for suitable candidates.
  • Occasional office visits required for key meetings, onboarding, or project reviews.
  • Regular collaboration with team via video calls, shared platforms, and project tools.
  • Full-time employment, additional hours may be necessary to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to constant changes in priorities and assigned tasks due to the dynamic nature of construction projects.
  • Flexible work hours may be available depending on project needs and coordination with team members.
