Position Overview

The People Operations & Culture Manager plays a key role in our success. You’ll manage recruiting and hiring, HR administration, employee onboarding, and morale-building initiatives. You’ll also create organic social-media content that highlights our people, training, and community involvement.

That’s why we’re hiring a People Operations & Culture Manager to help us recruit, onboard, and support our growing team — while also showcasing our amazing culture online.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

  • Post and manage job listings on Indeed, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Screen resumes, schedule and coordinate interviews
  • Conduct reference checks and prepare offer letters
  • Maintain a steady pipeline of electricians, apprentices, and office staff

Onboarding & Training Support

  • Create smooth first-day experiences for new hires
  • Coordinate orientation, paperwork, and equipment setup
  • Track 30-, 60-, and 90-day progress check-ins

Human Resources Administration

  • Maintain employee files and certifications
  • Support payroll changes, PTO tracking, and benefits administration
  • Help with policy updates and compliance documentation
  • Assist with performance-review coordination

Culture & Employee Engagement

  • Organize company events, training days, and recognition programs
  • Promote team morale and positive workplace communication
  • Gather feedback and assist with internal communications

Social Media & Employer Branding

  • Capture and post authentic team photos and videos
  • Create posts for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Promote hiring campaigns and community events
  • Strengthen Haas & Sons’ reputation as a top employer in Maryland

Qualifications

  • 2 + years of experience in HR, recruiting, or people operations
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient with Google Workspace, Trello
  • Creative mindset with basic social-media or Canva experience
  • Positive attitude, confidentiality, and genuine care for people
