Job Summary - HR Specialist
The HR Specialist plays a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle and ensuring smooth HR operations across the organization. This position is responsible for executing day-to-day HR activities, including recruitment, payroll administration, onboarding, training coordination, compliance, and employee relations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to delivering an excellent employee experience while maintaining confidentiality and ensuring adherence to company policies and employment laws.
What You’ll Do:
Manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned roles, including job postings, sourcing candidates, screening, interviewing, and coordinating with hiring managers.
Maintain applicant tracking systems and ensure a positive and timely candidate experience.
Support workforce planning and participate in hiring strategy discussions.
Process biweekly/monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Maintain payroll records, audit timesheets, and manage payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation adjustments.
Partner with Finance on payroll reconciliations and reporting as needed.
Serve as a trusted resource for employees, addressing questions, concerns, and policy interpretations.
Support supervisors in resolving employee relations matters in a fair, consistent, and compliant manner.
Assist with investigations, documentation, and corrective actions when needed.
Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a seamless start for employees.
Track training compliance and help manage company-wide training initiatives and learning platforms.
Support managers in identifying skill gaps and implementing development opportunities.
Maintain accurate employee files, HRIS data, and documentation in accordance with legal requirements.
Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee communication.
Support performance management processes, including review cycles and goal-setting.
Ensure HR practices comply with company policies as well as federal and state employment laws.
Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and employee experience initiatives.
Prepare HR reports and metrics as requested.
Assist with culture and engagement initiatives, events, and communications.
Support special projects, audits, and organizational initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
2–4 years of HR experience with exposure to recruitment, payroll, and employee relations.
Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
Experience with HRIS systems and payroll platforms (e.g., Rippling, TrakStar)..
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
