Birch Bay Law Group, PLLC is a growing virtual law firm serving clients throughout Washington State. We are seeking experienced, senior Washington-licensed family law attorneys for flexible per diem independent-contractor work. These fully remote roles are designed for seasoned practitioners who want to focus on substantive legal work, supported by a robust administrative infrastructure.

Position Highlights

• 100% Remote Practice: Attorneys manage assigned matters, drafting, and client communication from their home office.

• Court Appearances: Appearances are handled remotely when authorized by the specific court; in-person appearances are required when mandated.

• Flexible Workload: Approximately 10–30 hours per week, with no minimum hour requirement.

• Minimal Overhead: No office management or marketing responsibilities.

Firm Support (Provided at No Cost)

• Dedicated Support: Professional paralegal and administrative assistance.

• Operational Ease: Drafting assistance, finalization, e-filing support, and centralized calendaring/billing.

• Professional Coverage: Professional liability insurance coverage for matters assigned by the firm.

• Strategic Growth: Access to senior attorneys for consultation and CLE resources with WSBA tracking support.

Core Responsibilities

• Substantive Casework: Handle Washington family law matters, including dissolution, parenting plans, child support, property division, and relocation actions.

• Litigation & Advocacy: Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and trials throughout Washington, appearing remotely or in person as required.

• High-Quality Drafting: Produce motions, declarations, financial documents, and settlement agreements.

• Case Leadership: Develop strategy, provide legal advice, and maintain direct client communication.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Active membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association.

• Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of Washington family law experience; senior-level litigation experience strongly preferred.

• Courtroom Proven: Significant superior court hearing and litigation experience.

• Skillset: Strong research, exceptional legal writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Compensation

• Premium Rates: Senior-attorney hourly rates established based on experience and assignment complexity.

• Retention Bonus: $7,500 discretionary bonus payable after twelve (12) consecutive months of active engagement.

• Performance Rewards: Additional discretionary bonuses may be awarded based on work quality and client outcomes.

• Legal Structure: Independent-contractor relationship with administrative and malpractice support.
