Performing Arts Program Assistant - Part Time

Since 1978, the Preparatory Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College has provided a nurturing and fun setting where our talented, professional artist-teachers develop children's skills in music, theater and dance to their fullest potential. Our students are mostly ages 3 to 18 at all levels of study.

The Preparatory Center Program Assistant works on-site and plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Center.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in an administrative or office setting
• Proficiency in Excel
• Availability for a long-term commitment
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or current college enrollment at Brooklyn College with FWS eligibility
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, with careful attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage student enrollment processes, including registration, scheduling, and class coordination
• Support outreach efforts and communications
• Oversee and process instructor timesheets
• Prepare and reset classrooms daily; assist with additional physical setup needs during events
• Handle reconciliation of spending and other financial paperwork
• Develop, edit, and organize concert program materials
• Serve as the first point of contact for phone and email inquiries, along with general administrative support tasks

MUST BE AVAILABLE ON SATURDAYS, in addition to two other weekdays.

Job Type: Part-time

Projected Total Compensation: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
